DEAR friends, it’s my pleasure to mention about our donors of this week- lovely couple, who have yesterday donated School Bags (along with copies/pens) to all of our kids from Flyover/Slum.Mr Sanjay Goel an Ex IITian and (Ex IRSSE) (Indian Railway Service of signal engineers) now an educationist for last 25 years, as well as,his wife Nutan Agarwal BSc (Hons) MSc from Delhi University, who has been teaching Mathematics since 1992.
Sanjay Agarwal has a love for teaching so much so that he left his govt job to pursue his passion of teaching. Agarwal Study Centre was started as a modest coaching centre in South Delhi in 1989 with only 4 students and by 2005 it grew into a phenomenal name with 4 centres and more that 250 students. He has mentored thousands of students and all students hold him in high esteem. He is avid trekker and a qualified mountaineer.
Mr Agarwal believes in doing his bit for the society. If one is in a position he or she should do something for the underprivileged in the society in return to what we have taken from the society. Inspired by this philosophy Mr Agarwal became the founder trustee of Youth foundation Trust which is training youth of Uttarakhand to help them get inducted in Army and other paramilitary forces.
I would request all viewers to come forward and use network of Blue Pen to donate New/Old Toys, Blankets for upcoming winters, Toys, Clothes, School Bags or other Daily utility items, for our Flyover/Slum kids. We have already received request from another Donor Mr Sanjay Agarwal, who too intends to donate School bags (along with Copy/Pens) on coming Sunday to all Flyover Kids.
Trust me-that’s best way of celebrating Birthday/Anniversaries of your and Dear ones. It will be great if Donor himself comes and donate by hand, else Blue Pen also provides facility of picking up this stuff from your home and distribute it on your behalf.
Yesterday was special day as one of our volunteers, young n energetic Kavita Chowdhry celebrated her Birthday with Flyover/Slum kids and distributed birthday cake.
Further, as discussed last time, Blue Pen volunteers have now decided to celebrate Children’s day (14th Nov) in unique way. Yesterday, Science competition was organised for kids of all age groups in various Flyovers/Slums of all over Delhi.Talented kids in each group from participating kids from all Flyovers/Slums were selected. TEAM BLUE PEN is organising Visit of these meritorious kids to ‘Nehru Planetorium’ tomorrow, on Children’s Day (14th November). This concept was first mooted by our young and energetic volunteer Jai Khatri, with able assistance of Mr Isrg Rajan, Saurabh and Rahul etc. We are very sure that tomorrows trip will inspire more and more Flyover/Slum kids to study harder.
(NOTE: Sharing our bi-weekly posts carious groups of Facebook/Whatsapp helps us identify more volunteers, and cover more slums)
